We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate II/Senior Research Associate (RAII/SRA) with experience in molecular biology laboratory techniques to support R&D efforts to advance new and existing RNA-Seq based NGS (Next Generation Sequencing) technologies. The successful RAII/SRA will be responsible for supporting and collaborating with R&D Scientists to develop, validate, and optimize workflows. This is a hands-on position, and the candidate is expected to be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to learn and execute new laboratory techniques proficiently and reproducibly. 

Job responsibilities   

• Plan and execute experiments using standard biochemical and molecular techniques with an emphasis on RNA/NGS applications 
• Document experimental design and execution with attention to detail 
• Prepare technical reports, summaries, and written protocols as well as quantitative analysis and interpretation of data 
• Participate in lab tasks including ordering, organizing, and instrument maintenance 
• Work in a team environment to collaborate and communicate across departments in individual as well as group meetings 

Requirements  

• BS/MS in Biology or related discipline with 2 or more years of research experience in an academic or industry setting 
• Candidate must have hands-on experience with standard biochemical and molecular biological procedures, with a particular emphasis on nucleic acid isolation and handling experience, as well as PCR and gel electrophoresis 
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to handle long and labor-intensive protocols 
• Excellent written and oral communication skills 
• Reasoning skills in experimental design, data analysis, and experimental interpretation 
• Desire and ability to quickly learn new laboratory techniques and skills as a critical member of an evolving, collaborative team  

Preference will be given to candidates with  

• Hands-on experience preparing NGS libraries  
• Expertise in RNA biology 
• Experience in sterile tissue culture techniques  
• Industry experience  

Job Type: Full-time, on-site

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Salary Range: $60,000 – $80,000
