About the position

As a member of the Core Solutions Team, the individual will support the Services Department by executing customer projects that span across a wide range of technologies at Eclipsebio. This includes planning and executing eCLIP, eSHAPE, End-Seq and other RNA/NGS library prep experiments under manager supervision and extends to interpreting data and preparation of technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analysis. We are seeking a Research Associate II with RNA genomics, biology or NGS experience to join our fast-growing RNA genomics team. The candidate is expected to be self-motivated, detail oriented, able to handle long and labor-intensive protocols, and have the ability to learn new protocols quickly.

Job responsibilities   

• Plan, execute, and analyze NGS-based experiments under manager supervision, utilizing standard biochemical and molecular techniques
• Examine data and prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, ensuring experiments are well documented
• May present data in group meetings or on customer calls
• RNA isolation and handling, gel electrophoresis, western blot analysis, qPCR, library preparation and sequencing

Requirements  

• BS/MS in Molecular / Cell Biology or related discipline with 3-5 years’ experience in an R&D laboratory; industry experience highly preferred
• Standard biochemical and molecular biological procedures, with a particular emphasis on RNA isolation and handling experience, as well as western analysis, qPCR, library prep and gel electrophoresis
• Experience in high-throughput sequencing library preparation
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Attention to detail, proficient reasoning skills in experimental design and interpretation, resourcefulness, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment

Preference will be given to candidates with  

• Prior knowledge or experience with eCLIP techniques
• Prior experience in industry

Job Type: Full-time, on-site

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Salary Range: $60,000 – $75,000
